  • Vaporetto (Water Bus) - The main public transport system in Venice. A single ticket costs around €7.50, and there are various passes available for unlimited rides, such as a 1-day pass for €20, a 2-day pass for €30, and a 7-day pass for €603.

  • Traghetto - These are traditional gondolas that ferry passengers across the Grand Canal. A ride costs around €2, and it's a quick and scenic way to cross the canal.

  • Private Transport - You can opt for a water taxi for a more luxurious and direct option. Prices vary depending on the distance and time, but expect to pay around €80 to €100 for a 30-minute ride. 

  • Gondola Ride - The iconic Venetian gondola ride is a must-do experience. A standard 40-minute ride costs around €80 to €100.

  • Other Options - Bicycle, while not as common, you can rent bicycles to explore the city. Prices start at around €10 per day. 

  • Monorail The Venice People Mover connects the mainland (Piazzale Roma) to the Santa Lucia train station. A one-way ticket costs around €1.50.

Getting to Venice -

  • By Air - Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) is the main airport serving Venice. It is located on the mainland near the village of Tessera, about 8 km (5 miles) from Venice. From the airport, you can reach Venice by Bus - Several bus services, including the ATVO and ACTV buses, connect the airport to Venice (Piazzale Roma). Taxi - A taxi ride to Venice (Piazzale Roma) takes around 20 minutes and costs approximately €40 to €50. Train - Take a train from Mestre Railway Station to Venice Santa Lucia Railway Station. The journey takes about 10 minutes and costs around €2. Water Bus (Alilaguna) - Alilaguna operates water buses that provide a scenic route from the airport to Venice. Prices start at around €15 one-way.

  • By Sea - Port of Venice is a major port serving Venice and is one of the busiest cruise ports in Italy. It is located in the Marittima area and includes terminals for cruise ships, ferries, and yachts. You can arrive in Venice by Cruise Ships - Many cruise lines dock at the Venice Passenger Terminal (Venezia Terminal Passeggeri).

  • Ferry - Ferries from various locations, including Italy and Croatia, arrive at the Port of Venice.

  • Private Yacht - The port accommodates private yachts and boats.

  • By Land - Venice is accessible by road and rail from various parts of Italy and Europe. Train - The main train station in Venice is Venice Santa Lucia Railway Station. Trains connect Venice to major Italian cities and other European destinations.

  • Car - You can drive to Venice, but parking can be challenging and expensive. The main access points are the A4 motorway and the Ponte della Libertà bridge.

  • Bus - Long-distance buses operated by companies like FlixBus and Eurolines connect Venice to other cities in Italy and Europe
