Once the heart of ancient Rome's political, commercial, and social life, this sprawling archaeological site features remnants of important government buildings, temples, and marketplaces. Walking through it today, you can still trace the outlines of the Temple of Saturn, the Arch of Titus, and the House of the Vestal Virgins.
