Villa Jovis & Villa Lysis

The former residence of Roman Emperor Tiberius, and dive into Capri's rich historical tapestry. Among the must-see attractions are the captivating Villa Jovis and Villa Lysis. Starting from Capri's center and walking up the slopes of Mount Tiberius, after about an hour's hike, you'll reach the remnants of Villa Jovis. This was Tiberius's command center for the Roman Empire, where with the help of the sun, he used a system of mirrors to signal and communicate with the mainland. A short walk further down leads to Villa Lysis, an exquisite example of Art Nouveau architecture built by Count Fersen, now beautifully restored and open to the public. From there, continue your journey along the scenic Pizzolungo trail, which crosses the Grotta di Matermania and leads up to the breathtaking Natural Arch.

Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra)

One of Capri's most renowned attractions, the Blue Grotto is a sea cave bathed in a mesmerizing blue light. Take a boat tour into this natural wonder and experience the awe-inspiring spectacle. The Blue Grotto stretches 60 meters in length and 25 meters in width, with an entrance that is two meters wide and about a meter high. To enter, visitors board small rowboats that can hold up to four passengers. The skipper will have you lie back as he navigates through the narrow opening using a metal chain attached to the cave walls—an unforgettable experience unique to Capri.

From November to March, the Blue Grotto is usually closed due to high winds and rough seas, making passage through the cave's low entrance impossible. However, on calm days, the grotto may open to visitors in the morning. You can reach the Blue Grotto by tour boat, private boat, or bus. For the latest information on opening times, you can contact the port or call +39 081 837 06 86 (Azienda Turistica di Capri). Tickets were priced at EUR 18, for latest price and purchasing contact the floating ticket office.

Wander through the delightful streets of Anacapri, where you'll discover historic architecture, quaint shops, and inviting cafes.

Villa Romana di Damecuta

If you are visiting the ‘Blue Grotta”, it’s a quick visit, taking only a few minutes to explore. While it may not be a top attraction, it’s certainly a worthwhile stop if you're nearby.

Additionally, you can wander through the beautiful gardens and take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Bay of Naples.

The Punta Carena lighthouse

If you find yourself on Capri at sunset, we recommend taking a bus to Punta Carena lighthouse. It's the island's sole spot where you can witness the sun dipping into the sea. This location remains magical even on stormy winter days, with waves crashing dramatically against the rocks below. This historic lighthouse, with its vibrant red and white stripes, has been guiding sailors safely since 1866. Visitors to Punta Carena can enjoy a scenic walk to the lighthouse.

Monte Solaro

Monte Solaro is the highest point on the island of Capri, standing at 589 meters (1,932 feet). It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island, the Bay of Naples, and the Amalfi Coast. You can reach the summit via an old-fashioned chairlift from Anacapri, which takes about 12 minutes. The chairlift operates from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM during the high season (May to October). At the summit, you can enjoy the natural beauty, take in the stunning vistas, and even visit the Eremo di Santa Maria a Cetrella, a hermitage with a small church and bell tower. Monte Solaro is also known as the "cloud catcher" due to the thick blanket of fog that often forms around the summit

This experience allows you to soak in Capri’s natural beauty from a unique vantage point, visiting iconic spots such as the Faraglioni, the Blue Grotto, and many other enchanting sea caves along the coast. While there are various options like group tours and shorter visits, renting a boat with a private skipper is highly recommended.
