France's national day opens with a military flyover and parade down the Champs-Élysées, past the Arc de Triomphe. The evening is what people actually plan their trip around: a fireworks display launched from the Eiffel Tower itself, watched by crowds spread out across the Champ de Mars and along the Seine. The day features the oldest and largest regular military parade in Europe down the Champs-Élysées, followed by public dancing and fireworks over the Eiffel Tower.
